Hull Cleaning

A fouled hull can cost you speed, fuel efficiency, and the health of your bottom paint. Our thorough hull cleanings remove barnacles, algae, and marine growth β€” restoring your boat's performance and protecting your investment. Whether you're prepping for a weekend race at the yacht club or maintaining your cruiser between trips, we'll leave your hull slick and clean.

Zinc Replacements

Sacrificial zincs are your hull's first line of defense against galvanic corrosion. When they wear down, your expensive underwater metals are next. We inspect and replace your zinc anodes on-site so your running gear, propeller shafts, and through-hulls stay protected all season long.

Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking a dive.

How often should I have my hull cleaned?

For most boats in southeastern Connecticut waters, we recommend a hull cleaning every 4 to 6 weeks during the boating season (May through October). Marine growth accumulates quickly in warm months, and regular cleanings keep your bottom paint intact, improve fuel efficiency, and maintain top speed. Sailboat racers often prefer more frequent cleanings β€” especially before race days β€” to ensure a perfectly slick hull.

What if I'm not satisfied with the cleaning?

Our goal is to provide you with the cleanest boat possible. In the event that your boat is not to your expectations, we will gladly clean it again, free of charge. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we stand behind the quality of every dive.

Are you responsible for pre-existing damage found during cleaning?

We are not responsible for any pre-existing damage your boat may have. In order to keep your boat in good working order, regular hull cleanings are necessary. Boat owners who leave their boats unattended for extended periods may have underlying hull problems β€” such as blistering, eroded bottom paint, or corroded hardware β€” that are not visible until we begin cleaning. If we discover any issues during a dive, we'll document them and inform you immediately so you can take the appropriate next steps.

Do I need to be at the marina when you clean my boat?

No, you don't need to be present. Many of our clients simply book a service, provide their slip or mooring details, and let us handle the rest. After every cleaning, we can send you a summary along with underwater photos so you can see the results and the condition of your hull β€” even if you're miles from the marina. Of course, you're always welcome to be on-site if you prefer.

What areas do you serve?

If your boat is docked somewhere nearby that isn't listed, reach out β€” we're happy to discuss whether we can accommodate your location.
